Subject: Being True Blue

My Comments:  I would have posted above a similar color map for the recent election, but I cannot find one that does not show the Conservatives as being RED.

I cringe every time I hear the word RED STATE as a casual reference to Republican or Conservatives.  But, the Republicans don’t seem to get it...little things like “public perception” don’t seem to register with Republicans.

As I have remarked on numerous occasions to the local leadership of my Tea Party when talking about T-shirts:  I tell them when I can buy a blue one, then I will get a Tea Party T-shirt, but I will not wear a RED one!  My comments do not seem to register.

Little things like color identification matter—it does to me—and I believe it matters to the general public.  Growing up, the color RED was identified with the Reds—the Communists, the fascists, the Nazis, the totalitarian repressive dictatorships!  Pink was identified with their sympathizers.  So, why would I identify RED with my political beliefs if I was a supporter of the original intent of our founders—who were CLASSICAL LIBERALS.

Classical liberalism is the philosophy committed to the ideal of limited government, constitutionalism, rule of law, due process, and liberty of individuals including freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and free markets.

Just like everything else, those who hate the freedom our forefathers gave us, and want to create a powerful central state to control every aspect of our lives—take perfectly good terms (such as liberalism) and distort it for their corrupting purposes.

The Leftist Repressive/Regressives (a.k.a Progressives) call themselves liberals—but again, they usurp the term.  There is nothing liberal about their political aspirations.  They are repressive—they diminish our liberty, freedom and opportunity.  They are regressive—they work and succeed at imposing systems of politics, economics and ethics upon our society that have been proven historically (time and again) to not work, yet they can do this because they also worked to gain control the education and mass media in order to influence an increasingly dumbed down (or propagandized) society.

Did you know that until the year 2000, it was the color BLUE that was usually identified with the Republicans, and then the media—that freedom (sic) loving media—decided to switch the colors and permanently label Republicans as RED?

Many of you will say—you are making a mountain out of a molehill.  Well, when it comes to public perception and winning a war of ideas—everything matters.

When are those who call themselves Republicans, Conservatives, Libertarians, etc. going to wake up and smell the roses?  We have a war to win, and it starts with winning the public relations war of ideas.

Little things, like color identification does matter.  Color me BLUE.
